If you are taking your kids along with you while visiting Boston, check out these activities, at least one before you leave the city.

Duck tours are available. This eighty-minute land-and-sea tour is offered on a “duck,” that travels both on land and in the Charles River. The tour is lots of fun, as you quack your way through the streets of Boston .This tour also is the one that seems to be the biggest hit with kids.

Miriam and Sidney Stoneman playground is perfect for a relaxing day for parents while the kids can release all their energy at this park. While you watch your kids play, you can look out at the Charles River and sit on a bench and relax. The kids can enjoy the slides and swings, and afterwards you can stroll down the bike path with your kids and watch the skaters, bikers, walkers and runners go by.

Franklin Park Zoo

The highlights of the seventy-two-acre Franklin Park Zoo are the Tropical Rain Forest, the Australian Outback Trail, the Kalahari Kingdom, the Savanna Exhibit of Giraffes, Serengeti Crossing, and Butterfly Landing .The three-acre rain forest is the largest of its kind in North America. It takes pride in its pygmy hippopotamuses, gorillas, ring-tailed lemurs, crocodiles, and thousands of exotic birds. The Franklin Farm has a contact area with farm animals. The Serengeti Crossing area is where your children can see zebras, ostriches, and wild beasts. Special events at the park and the zoo include the Kite Festival at Franklin Park, in late spring, and Zoo Howl, around Halloween, plus the Snorin’ Roarin’ Sleepover program for groups and families by reservation.

New England Aquarium

Larger than usual aquariums, the New England Aquarium is famous for its sensational exhibits of sea creatures like sea lions, whales , turtles to mention a few. A great hit among kids is the never boring IMAX theaters, and the IMAX theatre in the aquarium has a giant screen that is taller than a six-storey building with the special effects of a 3-D movie. Underwater movies/documentaries are shown here to allow visitors to see aquatic places and animals in their natural habitat.

Children’s Museum is a wonderful indoor play and learn center for all age levels. It is great for summer or winter where kids are occupied with different activities.

The Theatre provides workshops, summer programs, school projects, community events, special events and much more all through the year.

Long famed for its Swan Boats, the Boston Common is also home to the Frog Pond Spray Pool and Fountain. Any of these activities will cool little people on a hot summer day.
